After comparing many other similar sized units, I purchased the AFW2.5D to bring down the humidity of my +1500ft basement and crawlspace, which reached 87% during the northeastern summers. I ran it 24/7 for ~3mo during the summertime, and it kept the humidity down at an average of 54%. Now that its fall, it only runs when it reaches the 62% humidity threshold that I set. I can definitely hear it when the basement door is open, but cannot hear it at all when the door is closed. When using for 24/7 during the summer, my energy meter reported an average of 552Wh.

Overall, the settings are easy to use and understand, and the unit is much more solid than the portable units I have used previously. I also like that it is box-shaped and wider than tall, which makes it easier to store/stack/place. This unit also has both gravity (unpowered) and pump drains, which makes it much more flexible for my use. For now, Ive opted to put the unit on my basement floor, and use the gravity drain to expel into my sump pump pit which has worked out great. I would definitely recommend this unit.

We have always had a very humid crawlspace, which affects the humid, musty smell of our home. We purchased the Waykar 158 pint dehumidifier on April 25, 2025, and Ive been very pleased with its performance. We no longer have the musty smell in our home and our hardwood floors dont look as wavy due to the humidity.

During the summer are basement can get very humid. In the past have used (non-commercial) version dehumidifiers. They would last a couple of summers and just quit working. Finally, had enough and sprung for the Waykar 70-pint (Commercial) dehumidifier. Good value, although a bit steep in price compared to the non-commercial. But it is doing a great job. It seems that it is going to last a lot longer than a couple of seasons. No issues with set up controls are not super intuitive but got thru them.

Works good but. Bought this unit in June 2025. Have it installed in my crawl space that is encapsulated.
Unit was working fine unit I noticed hearing a vibration. Being a mechanic I pulled the unit out. When i removed it i had three large bolts fall out. Knowing that was not good I removed the cover. The three bolt are those that hold the compressor in on bushings. I was able to reinstall them and used some thread locker to secure them. Put it back together and all is running fine. Not sure why the mfg doesnt do this. The mfg contacted me and made it good with a refund for the issue.

My crawlspace was very humid (around 80%), so I had it wrapped with 10 mil plastic sheeting. It stayed in the 70% range even after wrapping, so I had to do more and bought this dehumidifier. It was very easy to set up. Im using the pump feature, so I simply had to connect the included drain hose to the outlet from the pump and run it out of my crawlspace through a hole in the wall for my A/C pipes. I turned the dehumidifier on, set it to 50% humidity and within a week or so, it had gotten the humidity down to 50%, and it now stays that way consistently! It might go up to like 55% or so during the day (my crawlspace vents arent sealed, so some humidity gets in), but I realized a couple weeks later that I hadnt thought about it at all because its keeping the humidity level where it should be so well! I did end up having to go down after a month and realized the unit wasnt fully pumping because I didnt have it level. I bought a leveling platform here on Amazon for $25, and problem solved! Support was helpful to point me in that direction. Overall, very happy with the purchase, especially for the great price.
